A group of leaders from across Softball in Australia met on the 8th of October to participate in a conversation about the culture and values of the sport, and discussed a framework for change.

The mix of Softball Australia and State representatives from the board and executive level took part in the encouraging half-day session with facilitators from the AIS.

Softball Australia Chair Richard Lindell said “It was wonderful to catch up with our partners from around the country for a deep-dive into the many opportunities to grow our sport. I’m looking forward to building on the energy in the room to develop a unified strategic plan to attract new participants, elevate game day experiences and improve high performance outcomes at all levels of Softball in Australia.”

Frank Curcio, Chair of Softball ACT added "It was great to be able to meet up face-to-face with my colleagues from each State and Softball Australia; with many conversations had which could not have happened online. It was even better to see that all present had similar views with regards to where softball should head and that we need to all work together and be united in our pursuits if we are to be successful. I left with a sense of excitement and hope of what the future might bring.”

Softball Australia continues to consult with stakeholders ahead of the drafting and release of the Strategic Plan for the next phase of our sport.
