Expression of Interest: Aussie Spirit Coaching Pool
Softball Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and emerging coaches to join the Aussie Spirit Coaching Pool, supporting the Open Women’s National Program.
Current Program Structure
The Open Women’s program currently comprises:
- Head Coach
- Three Assistant Coaches
- Support from Gen32 Coach
To build greater depth and national alignment, we are expanding the coaching pool to support program delivery and long-term succession planning.
Eligibility
Expressions of Interest are invited from:
- Previous coaching experience working in the national program
- Coaches working within state, territory, and high-performance environments
Purpose of the Coaching Pool
The Aussie Spirit Coaching Pool will:
- Provide coaching support to the Open Women’s program
- Strengthen alignment across the national program
- Build national coaching capability and succession depth
- Support delivery of high-performance initiatives across Australia
Role Expectations
Coaches within the pool will:
- Be engaged as required for national team activities (not all coaches will attend every activity)
- Support National Performance Hubs within their home state/territory
- Assist with camps, competitions, and athlete development initiatives when selected
- Contribute to a connected, aligned national coaching framework
What We’re Looking For
Availability & Commitment
- Capacity to contribute across identified camps, tournaments and tours
- Availability to support state-based National Performance Hubs
- Flexibility to engage in both in-person and remote activities
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated coaching experience at state, national, or high-performance level
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work within a broader coaching team
- Athlete-centred approach with a focus on development and performance
National Coverage
- We are seeking a geographically diverse pool, ensuring representation and delivery capability across all states and territories

2027 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals - Local Organising Committee Roles
Softball Australia is establishing the Local Organising Committee for the 2027 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals, a team that will play a vital support role in delivering this global event on home soil.
We are inviting Expressions of Interest for a range of voluntary positions across the tournament’s planning phases. Further Expressions of Interest for the delivery phase will be available in the second half of 2026.
If you’re passionate about contributing to a world-class sporting event and have skills or experience that align with our needs, we encourage you to apply. Please submit a cover letter and resume to volunteers@softball.org.au, clearly specifying which Local Organising Committee role or roles you are applying for.

Voluntary Role and Time Commitment
This is a voluntary, hands-on role supporting the planning and delivery of the 2027 Women’s Softball World Cup. While the position is unpaid, it is an active working role with real responsibilities and accountability, commensurate with the scale and complexity of a major international sporting event.
Monthly Local Organising Committee (LOC) meetings will be held. In addition, work will be required between meetings to progress actions, contribute to planning and support decision-making as required.
The time commitment will vary across the lifecycle of the event and cannot be precisely defined at this stage. Periods of increased activity should be expected as the World Cup approaches, reflecting the significance and operational demands of the event.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to consider their capacity to commit time flexibly and engage actively in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
