Softball Australia congratulates Queensland associations Softball Far North Queensland and Suncoast Hinterland Softball Association, and Far North Coast Softball Association (NSW) on becoming the most recent associations to achieve Homeplate status. This is the ultimate recognition through Softball Australia’s Homeplate Ladder Program, recognising associations that have demonstrated best practice governance, planning, implementation of successful membership growth strategies and delivery of national participation programs such as Softball Batter Up with tremendous success.
Softball Far North Queensland, Suncoast Hinterland Softball Association and Far North Coast Softball Association have achieved this ultimate recognition on the back of strong membership growth, meeting all national affiliation standards and delivering national participation programs accumulating a total of 90 points each, resulting in 3rd, 4th and 6th position respectively on the Homeplate Ladder, only separated by membership growth percentage.
This brings the total of Homeplate status associations to six, having already recognised Cumberland Nepean Softball Association (NSW), Newcastle District Softball Association (NSW) and Rockingham City and District Softball Association (WA). With 16 associations at Going for Home status (51-80 points) and 25 associations at On Base status (30-50 points), it won’t be long before they achieve the ultimate recognition of Homeplate status.
The top 20 associations nationally is available to view on the live ladder, here. Every association has time to achieve Homeplate status, with points still available for completing a national affiliation standards checklist, meeting each national affiliation standard, developing and implementing an action plan, delivering a national participation program, completing a Club Health Check and registering to the Homeplate website by 30 June 2017. Points are also still available for achieving membership growth of 5% or more and member retention of 80% or greater. The final ladder for 2016/17 will be published in the August edition of Homeplate News. If you would like to know where your association currently stands, contact the Association Coordinator in your state or email [email protected].
The Homeplate Ladder Program is currently only available to associations; clubs will be eligible to participate from August 2017.
