Softball Batter Up Fundamental Skills Course free for June

Softball Australia continues to prepare Clubs and Associations for softball’s resumption by offering the Softball Batter Up Fundamental Skills Course free for June.

Starting in April, Softball Australia offered the Softball Batter Up Coaching Induction Course, followed by the Softball Managing Games Course for free with an excellent uptake across the country.

“It’s been really encouraging to see so many registrations come through for the Softball Batter Up courses we’ve been offering during this isolation period,” said Softball Australia CEO David Pryles.

“By offering these courses we’re hoping Clubs and Associations will be able to jump straight in to conducting Softball Batter Up clinics and help grow their own membership base.”

The Softball Fundamental Skills Course looks at basic softball skills and how to successfully coach them in a safe, fun and engaging way.

Throughout June, participants completing the course will learn:

  • How to demonstrate skills
  • How to ask great questions and check for understanding
  • The basic skills of fielding, catching and throwing
  • The basic skills of batting and bunting
  • The basic skills of base running
  • The basic skills of pitching and catching
  • Basic softball terminology

The course builds further on the knowledge gained in the Softball Batter Up Coaching Induction and Softball Managing Games Courses offered previously.

The Softball Fundamental Skills course is the online version of the Level 1 coaching course offered by states. With fresh content and online delivery, anyone can have access to this course at home and in their own time.
