Victoria Titans Open Women’s Head Coach Mark Rigg and AFLW WA Women’s State Academy & U18s Physiotherapist Madeline Ross will join the Junior Spirit U18 Women’s Team for the 2020 WBSC U18 Women’s World Cup in Lima, Peru from 23 – 30 August.
The pair join Head Coach Chantelle ‘CJ’ James with Rigg filling an Assistant Coach Role and Ross stepping in as Team Physiotherapist.
Rigg is fresh off coaching the Victorian Open Women’s team at the 2020 Gilley’s Shield and also filled a coaching role during the Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball held at Blacktown International Sportspark earlier this year.
Ross is a Certified APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and has extensive experience working with high level athletes including the West Coast Eagles Women’s AFL team and a number of WA Women’s AFL teams from Open grade to U18s.
James and her staff will aim to steer the Junior Spirit to a sixth medal in international competition to add to Australia’s swag of five bronze medals.
