Softball Australia welcome four new key staff members to the head office and a new addition to the Board, while state organisations have also made several recent important additions.

Chris Davis has been appointed to the Softball Australia Board as a non-Executive Director. A collaborative, results orientated Director, Chris has more than 35 years of international experience in the consumer product and services sector, with a proven ability to source and understand customer insights, develop strategy, and deliver objectives. He has held directorships at Fairtrade Australia & NZ, Superseals Australia, PZ Cussons Provident Trust, Milk Ventures UK, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, among many others, and is currently the Managing Director of L4 Corporate & Management Advisory.

Stephen Dix joins Softball Australia in the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining softball, Stephen worked as CFO for TVG Global Events in Dubai, managing the finances of TVG projects at World Expo 2020. He also previously worked as CFO for software company SportsTG, where he played a key role in the merger of IMG Sports Technology Group and Fox Sports Pulse. With almost 20 years of experience, Stephen brings extensive executive finance experience to the position.

A passion for sport and events makes Bianca Chiera the ideal candidate for Softball Australia’s Events Coordinator position. Bianca previously worked as the Operations Coordinator at Shooting Australia, and Membership Services Coordinator at Bowls South Australia, while continuing to work as Event staff at Adelaide Oval and the South Australia National Football League.

Julie Perna’s extensive experience in office administration and corporate support is clearly suited to the role of Executive Assistant/Office Manager. For more than 20 years, Julie provided administrative and customer support in the hospitality industry, including eight years at the Intercontinental Hotel Group as a Senior Hotel Services Assistant Manager.

Zahra Hussein brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to the Accounts Assistant position. Having most recently worked as Finance Support Officer at Banyule City Council in Melbourne’s north, Zahra has also been employed as an accounting project assistant, accounts officer, bookkeeper, and finance support officer, and has a Bachelor of Commerce and Executive Diploma of Bookkeeping.

Softball Australia CEO Rosie Williams OBE said, “Our new staff are all highly qualified professionals that bring key skills to their respective positions. Just as importantly, their corporate experience and enthusiasm will help us tackle key projects we have on the horizon, so it’s exciting to have these new faces and a fresh energy in the organisation.”

At state level, Stuart Clark was recently announced as CEO for Softball NSW. Aside from being a highly respected former Australian cricketer, Stuart was previously the Chief Operating Officer at NSW Rugby League, and the inaugural General Manager of the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

Late last month, Softball Victoria announced the appointment of Jo Schutt to the role of Participation Coordinator for South-East Melbourne and Regional Victoria, and Softball NT have recently welcomed Blake Gilbert as a Development Officer. Aidan Slomp has also joined Softball WA as Participation & Development Officer and will be responsible for coordinating events and activities that promote participation in WA.
