1 day to go until the first ever Softball Australia Giving Day

Published Fri 24 May 2024

Saturday, May 25th is the first ever Softball Australia Giving Day, providing our whole community with the opportunity to assist our Aussie softball athletes in representing our country on the world stage.

Our Australian players regularly give back to our sport by running junior clinics and doing their best to inspire the next generation of softballers, whilst often working their own jobs and taking care of their own lives and families.

The focus of the 2024 Giving Day is to cover the player levy costs across three WBSC World Cup events being held in 2024:

  • The Aussie Steelers World Cup Group Stage (Mexico, June)
  • The Aussie Spirit World Cup Finals (Italy, July)
  • The U18 Women’s World Cup Group Stage (USA, August/September)

May 25 is the big day for the Australian softball community to show its support by donating through the Australian Sports Foundation project pages, which will be opened at 12am on Saturday. The money raised will directly contribute towards lowering player levies with donors having the ability to decide which Australian team to donate to. In conjunction with the Australia Sports Foundation, this is all possible.

Donors can be fully confident that their donations are going directly to the cause they are supporting, as Softball Australia’s use of the funds towards the travel funds listed above is required to be acquitted to the Australian Sports Foundation.

The Australian Sports Foundation is Australia's leading non-profit sports fundraising and charity body that has been helping athletes, sporting clubs and organisations fundraise for more than 35 years. They have helped thousands of clubs, players and organisations raise hundreds of millions of dollars for all levels of sport through philanthropic investments, building stronger sports communities.

Get ready to get giving tomorrow to show our athletes the strength and support of our softball community!
