Aussie Spirit, Australian Open Women’s Team is one of Australia’s most successful women’s sporting teams on the world stage and has achieved outstanding results over the last three decades. Alongside the USA, Aussie Spirit are the only other team to medal at all 4 Olympics that softball was included as a sport in the Olympic program (1996-2008). Australia has a long and proud history of women’s softball, with the inaugural Women’s Softball World Championship held in Melbourne in 1965. Australia claimed the first ever title and stamped themselves as a pioneer in the sport.
