The Japan Toyota Red Terriers have won their second consecutive Down Under Series with a 4-1-1 record over the Aussie Spirit at Blacktown International Sportspark.
The Red Terriers are at Blacktown for the preseason training camp while the Spirit used the series to assist in their player selection process to name the team that will participate in the Women’s Softball World Cup in the USA and the WBSC XV Women’s World Softball Championship at Vancouver, Canada later this year.
On Sunday, the final two games of the series were played with the Red Terriers winning both games, 2-1 and then 6-2. Red Terriers, Mami Tanaki, was named the series Most Valuable Player.
