Softball Australia confirms National Event allocations through to 2029

Published Tue 07 Apr 2026

Softball Australia has confirmed the allocation of its National Championships and National Event calendar for the next three years, following a comprehensive and highly competitive tender process.

The three‑year allocation model provides valuable certainty for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and host partners, while supporting long‑term planning, strong event delivery and the sustainable growth of the sport nationwide.

Softball Australia CEO, Sarah Loh, said the allocations reflect careful consideration of strategic priorities, operational capacity and the long‑term benefit to the softball community.

“Our National Championships play a vital role in Australia’s softball talent pathway,” Sarah said. “They provide an important platform where emerging athletes are identified, challenged and prepared for the transition into higher‑performance environments, including state and national representation. The allocation of these events helps ensure the consistency and quality required to support athlete development over time.”

Softball Australia recognises that the timing and location of national events are determined through the careful balancing of multiple considerations across a national calendar. While individual preferences and regional circumstances will always vary, the three‑year allocation model is designed to deliver consistency, planning certainty and long‑term benefits for the sport. This approach enables hosts to plan well in advance, invest confidently in facilities and people, and deliver high‑quality experiences for participants, officials and fans alike.

Softball Australia also acknowledges the strong level of interest in hosting national events and sincerely thanks Member States, Territories, Associations and volunteers for their continued commitment to delivering outstanding championship experiences across the country.
