Australia Drawn Into Group A for WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage

The Aussie Spirit has been placed in Group A for the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup.The World Cup Group Stage will take place in June 2026 in Prague, Czechia.
Australia will face No. 4 Canada; No. 6 Chinese Taipei; No. 9 Italy; No. 11 Czechia; No. 13 Cuba.
The top two teams from Group A will earn direct qualification, plus two wildcard nations into the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in 2027, hosted in Redcliffe, Brisbane.
Aussie Spirit Head Coach Kerrie Porter said, "It’s exciting to have confirmation that Australia will compete in Group A at the World Cup Group Stage in Prague next June.”
"We know we’ll face highly ranked teams, so our preparation must be deliberate to perform strongly and continue driving our culture and standards forward.
"With momentum from a successful series against Chinese Taipei and the upcoming USA Down Under Series in December, we’re building toward 2026 with confidence.
"Feedback from athletes and coaches who have competed in Prague has been extremely positive, and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete there in June," she said.
Australia’s placement in Group A marks the next step in the Spirit’s preparation for a home World Cup Finals in 2027, where the team will look to harness home-crowd energy and chase global success on Australian soil.
The Aussie Spirit will face one of the world’s best, USA from 31 December 2025 – 3 January 2026 in preparation for their upcoming qualifying and beyond.
