On behalf of Softball Australia, I’d like to welcome you to the Under 14 Regional Championships in Redcliffe for a brilliant development opportunity for many of our youngest softballers.
The Under 14 Regional Championships form an important part of the talent development pathway alongside the Talent Camps Program and the Auckland Easter Carnival, as we look towards the future.
At this event we need to see great sportsmanship from our players and a supportive environment for the players to participation in from our supporters.
To all of our players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, and our hosts Softball QLD and Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association: A sincere thank you for all your hard work and dedication to making this week happen.

Chief Executive Officer, Softball Australia
On behalf of the Softball Queensland Board and staff members, I welcome all players, team officials, umpires, statisticians, and softball supporters to the 2023 Under 14 Regional Championships.
I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Redcliffe region, the clans that identify as being a part of the Gubbi Gubbi (Kabi Kabi) and the Ningy Ningy people (Ningi Ningi, Ninghi Ninghi), part of the Undambi people. I wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of Redcliffe and this region. I would like to acknowledge and welcome other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who may be attending this event.
History will be made with Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association hosting its first National Event and the re-introduction of the Under 14 Regional Championships. It is with pride that Softball Queensland partners with Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association to host these highly regarded championships on behalf of Softball Australia.
After a brief interruption, it is great to have a National level tournament on the calendar for this age group, and it sure to provide some high-class action from these talented young athletes. I trust you will enjoy great softball, the camaraderie of your teams and competitors and all that Redcliffe has to offer during your stay at the Under 14 Regional Championships.
I look forward to a spectacular display of skill by all players across Australia and for respect, fair play, and integrity from all those competing and attending these championships.
My thanks to all the volunteers who make this tournament happen and ensures it is the success that it will be. Special thanks to the president and committee of Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association for hosting and all that goes with it.
Thanks to the staff of Softball Queensland and the organising committee for their ongoing support in the delivery of all softball championships and to Softball Australia for allocating these championships to Queensland.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank the Queensland Government and to the Councillors of the Morton Bay Regional Council for their ongoing support of softball.
To all participants and officials best of luck with your games and I trust to the families and supporters who have come to cheer on the teams, thank you for your involvement.
