ISF/WBSC Accreditation
To officiate at WBSC events, such as the Olympic Games or a World Cup, is the highest goal an umpire can achieve, and requires many years of hard work and dedication.
WBSC require all umpires that wish to be considered for selection to officiate at WBSC events, to be active and to re-certify each four-year period; this coincides with the release of each new version of the rule book.
The recertification requires umpires to sit and pass the WBSC rules assessment, pass the published WBSC fitness test, submit a positive report on the umpire’s on-field performance, and include an acknowledgement of a positive relationship with the federation (Softball Australia), and complete online modules.
WBSC also has a levelling system of level 1, 2 and 3, more information is available from the NUIC – WBSC. Contact the Softball Australia NUIC-WBSC for further details via email address technical.umpire@softball.org.au
