U18 Australian Women Come Together in Brisbane Ahead of Chinese Taipei Tour

Published Wed 16 Sep 2026

The U18 Australian Women’s squad came together in Brisbane from 7 - 12 July for an intensive selection camp at Redlands Softball Association, with athletes competing for selection to the upcoming U18 Australian Women’s Chinese Taipei Tour.

The camp provided the full squad with an opportunity to train and compete together while allowing the coaching and selection panel to assess athletes across a range of game situations. With seven games scheduled across the camp, the athletes were challenged to demonstrate their skills, consistency and ability to perform in a competitive environment.

The camp commenced with athlete testing, providing an opportunity to measure progression across the training blocks and track the development of athletes within the program. The testing was followed by game play, hitting sessions and position-specific work, with athletes given opportunities to showcase their abilities across both offensive and defensive situations. Pitchers and catchers also completed additional work throughout the camp. The squad also participated in an integrity session, reinforcing the importance of understanding the responsibilities and expectations that come with representing Australia.

The intensive schedule saw the squad play seven games across the camp, providing athletes with valuable opportunities to compete, adjust and apply their skills across different game scenarios while allowing the coaching group to assess performance over multiple days.

The U18 Australian Women’s Team will now turn its attention towards the Chinese Taipei Tour, where the squad will continue its preparation and development through international competition.

Following the Brisbane camp, the U18 Australian Women’s Team will now prepare for the upcoming Chinese Taipei Tour, which will take place from Friday 2 October to Tuesday 13 October 2026 in Chinese Taipei (Taiwan). The tour will provide the athletes with an important opportunity to represent Australia on the international stage and continue their development through international competition.

Congratulations to all athletes selected to represent Australia on the upcoming Chinese Taipei Tour. The tour will provide the U18 Australian Women with an important opportunity to gain international experience, compete against strong opposition and continue their development within the Australian pathway.
