Two Aussie Spirit Development players will extend their stay overseas and join the Travelodge Aussie Spirit at the World Games, following strong performances at the Canada Cup.

Queensland’s Rhiannon Kemp and Victoria’s Kylie Steemers will now travel with the Spirit to Alabama for a series of exhibition games and development clinics, before moving on to the World Games in Birmingham, USA from July 9-13.

Softball Australia CEO Rosie Williams OBE said, “This is a big accomplishment for these players, and they should be proud of the skill and grit they displayed at the Canada Cup. They also bring the enthusiasm and attitude that fits in with the culture we need to make the team successful.

“Just as importantly, their selection also demonstrates that positions in the Australian team are up for grabs: If you are determined, put in the work, and bring the right mindset, then you will get the chance to represent your country.”

Rhiannon and Kylie will travel with Travelodge Aussie Spirit as part of an extended squad, with 15 players eligible to participate at the World Games.
