Softball Australia CEO Sarah Loh has been appointed as a member of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Softball Commission, recognising her leadership and advocacy for the growth of softball at both national and international level.

Loh’s appointment is part of the WBSC’s newly announced commissions structure, established to help guide the global strategy and long-term development of baseball and softball through to 2030.

As Australia prepares to host the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in 2027 and builds momentum towards LA 2028 and beyond, Loh’s appointment further strengthens Australia’s voice within the international sporting landscape.

WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said the newly appointed commissions would play an essential role in supporting the continued growth of baseball and softball globally.

“The WBSC Commissions play an essential role in supporting our vision and strategic objectives as we continue to grow Baseball/Softball worldwide,” Fraccari said.

“We are proud to bring together experienced and passionate leaders from across our global community, and Sarah’s leadership, professionalism and commitment to the advancement of softball make her a valuable addition to the WBSC Softball Commission.

“With the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Australia in 2027, LA 2028 and decisions around Brisbane 2032 ahead, this is an important period for our sport globally and strong leaders like Sarah will help us continue building softball’s profile and future within the Olympic movement.”

Loh said she was honoured to contribute to the global advancement of softball during an important period for the sport’s growth and popularity.

“It’s a privilege to be appointed as a member of the WBSC Softball Commission and to work alongside leaders from across the international baseball and softball community,” Loh said.

“With the Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in 2027, and Brisbane 2032 on the horizon, Australia has a unique opportunity to showcase the strength and future of softball on the global stage.

“I look forward to contributing to initiatives that strengthen softball internationally while continuing to advocate for the growth and visibility of the game here in Australia.”
