Published Tue 10 Feb 2026

Softball Australia is establishing the Local Organising Committee for the 2027 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals, a team that will play a vital support role in delivering this global event on home soil.

We are inviting Expressions of Interest for a range of voluntary positions across the tournament’s planning phases. Further Expressions of Interest for the delivery phase will be available in the second half of 2026.

If you’re passionate about contributing to a world-class sporting event and have skills or experience that align with our needs, we encourage you to apply. Please submit a cover letter and resume to volunteers@softball.org.au, clearly specifying which Local Organising Committee role or roles you are applying for.

Your cover letter should outline your relevant experience and why you’re interested in joining the Committee.

Explore the available opportunities below and be part of an unforgettable moment for women’s sport.

Expressions of interest will close at midnight AEDT on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

Voluntary Role and Time Commitment

This is a voluntary, hands-on role supporting the planning and delivery of the 2027 Women’s Softball World Cup. While the position is unpaid, it is an active working role with real responsibilities and accountability, commensurate with the scale and complexity of a major international sporting event.

Monthly Local Organising Committee (LOC) meetings will be held. In addition, work will be required between meetings to progress actions, contribute to planning and support decision-making as required.

The time commitment will vary across the lifecycle of the event and cannot be precisely defined at this stage. Periods of increased activity should be expected as the World Cup approaches, reflecting the significance and operational demands of the event.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to consider their capacity to commit time flexibly and engage actively in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

Child Safeguarding

Softball Australia is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all children and young people participating in our sport.

We believe that children have the right to feel safe, respected and valued in all softball activities. Child safety is everyone’s responsibility and we expect all staff, volunteers, coaches, officials and participants to uphold the highest standards of behaviour.

At Softball Australia we have zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, or harm in any form and require all applicants that will work with children and young people to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment this may include a police check.
