Call for Applications: U-19 Women’s Head Coach and U-19 Women’s Lead Battery Coach

Are you a passionate softball coach looking to make a significant impact on the development of young talent? Do you possess the skills, dedication, and vision to guide and shape the future stars of the Aussie Spirit?

 

The aim of Softball Australia’s U19 women’s program is to develop the Aussie Spirit players of the future. This program is a year-round development program for identified female players between the ages of 16 and 19, underpinned by a program of long-term player development, camps and competitions. To lead this program, we are recruiting:

 

  • U-19 Women’s program Head Coach
  • U-19 Women’s program Lead Battery Coach.

 

As Head Coach, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to our U-19 national squad. Your focus will be on fostering individual and team growth, both on and off the field. You'll work closely with our Lead Battery Coach to develop a cohesive and competitive squad. The full position description can be viewed from the links at the bottom of this page.

 

As the Lead Battery Coach your primary responsibility will be to refine and elevate the skills of our pitchers and catchers. You'll collaborate closely with the Head Coach to ensure a synchronized approach to player development. The full position description can be viewed from the links at the bottom of this page.

 

This is a two-year appointment, commencing immediately and concluding on September 30, 2025, with a review point in September 2024. During your tenure, you will have the opportunity to work with players aspiring to represent Australia in international competition and help them realize their full potential, guiding them in their development and transition into senior competition. Coaches appointed to these positions will be expected to coach the teams selected from this age group in international competitions, which may include, but is not limited to, the U18 World Cup group stage and finals.  

 

Key Responsibilities of both roles:

  • Develop and implement a holistic, year-round coaching program.
  • Provide guidance and support to players on and off the field.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork, sportsmanship, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other coaching staff and stakeholders.
  • Identify and nurture talent for the long-term success of Australian softball.

 

Who We're Looking For:

This is a volunteer position, however travel, accommodation and uniform costs for the coaches will be covered by Softball Australia.
