Softball Australia is pleased to announce the 2022 Aussie Steelers squad, ahead of the Softball Men's World Cup in New Zealand in December.

Selection took place following the National Championships last month, and the squad features a mix of players who competed at the Nationals alongside athletes currently competing overseas.

Softball Australia Rosie Williams OBE said, “After Covid interruptions over the last two years, it’s very pleasing to announce a squad for the Men’s World Cup. Australia is currently ranked third in the world in Men’s Softball, and the emerging talent and experience in this squad should give all Steelers fans’ plenty of hope for a strong performance at the World Cup in December.”

In another positive development, Rosie also revealed Softball Australia Hall of Famer Laing Harrow will lead the Steelers as Head Coach, saying “Laing has demonstrated that he is the right coach for this team. He guided our women’s program to the 2020 Olympics, and I’m confident Laing will get the most out of this squad and the team he takes to New Zealand."

The Men’s World Cup team will be announced in late-August.
