Softball Australia Supports NAIDOC Family Day with Aboriginal Housing Victoria

In July, Softball Australia proudly supported Aboriginal Housing Victoria as part of its commitment to increasing youth participation in sport through the ASC PlayWell Grant initiative.

This collaboration aimed to bring softball to more young people by supporting the NAIDOC Family Day celebration, a vibrant community event attended by over 1,000 people.

To help make the day special, Softball Australia provided softball equipment and giveaways, creating opportunities for children and families to engage with the sport in a fun and inclusive environment.

A highlight of the day was a softball clinic delivered by Melbourne Softball Association member Poppy Bouhalis, whose energy and passion for the game made a lasting impression. The clinic was warmly received by participants of all ages, many of whom were trying softball for the first time.

This event not only celebrated culture and community during NAIDOC Week but also reinforced Softball Australia’s commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and grassroots development. By supporting events like these, Softball Australia continues to build meaningful connections and create pathways for more kids to get involved in sport.
