Celebrating National Volunteer Week with Softball Australia

From bustling city suburbs to the most remote corners of the outback, softball in Australia is supported by the incredible work of our volunteers. Their passion, dedication, and tireless commitment ensure that softball activities are organised and enjoyed by communities nationwide. This National Volunteer Week, Softball Australia joins the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) in giving 3 cheers for our volunteers – the heart and soul of our sport.

Softball in Australia relies on thousands of incredible volunteers who contribute at every level – from grassroots clubs to high performance arenas. Whether it’s scoring games on the weekend, running the canteen, coaching junior teams, or officiating international tournaments, our sport simply wouldn’t be possible without them.

Many of our volunteers have gone far beyond the diamond – representing Australia on the global stage as team managers, umpires, and scorers, and helping to grow softball at home and abroad. They’ve travelled the world, but their impact is always felt right here in their local communities.

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, the ASC is calling on all Australians to join the campaign and give 3 Cheers for Volunteers – a moment to recognise the millions of people who bring sport to life across the country.
