2024/25 Over 35 National Championships Tournament Wraps

Western Australia started the Over 35's with a victory over Queensland to claim the Men's National Over 35 championship for the third straight year.
After going through the round games with one loss, dropping the first final to Queensland 12-5, before dominating New South Wales in the preliminary final to face Queensland in the championship game.
In the championship game, Western Australia jumped to an early lead, leading 7-0 going into the bottom of the 3rd, highlighted by a run shot over centre-left by Paul Harris. Luke Vandergriendt gave the Queenslanders hope with a two-run shot in the bottom of the 3rd. Queensland scored again in the 4th, trailing 7-3 going into the top of the 5th.
Mark Harris, backing up for the second game of the day for the West Australians on the mound, shut the Queenslanders down for the rest of the game. Harris then showed what a true all-rounder, launching a home run over centre field, scoring the final two runs of the game.

Queensland takes the Over 35's Women’s National Championship.
In a tightly contested affair all week, Queensland has come out on top at the championships, which concluded on Sunday. Led by former Aussie Spirit players, Sandra Holden and Erin West, the Queenslanders only dropped 2 games all tournament en route to victory.
After navigating the playoff with the chance of elimination, Queensland overcame Tasmania 9 runs to 2, then eliminated NSW on Sunday morning 8-7 to line up against Victoria in the championship game.
It was a close affair throughout the game, with stellar pitching performances from both Sarah Wickens (VIC) and Sandy Holden (QLD). Going into the 7th inning, the game was tied at 1-1, when back-to-back-to-back singles from Nicole Vandergriendt, Erin West, and Charlee Munro loaded the bases for Queensland. Sandy Holden then provided a two-run single to left, proving to be the game-winning at bat for her side. Victoria rallied in the bottom of the 7th to bring the winning run to the plate but were unable to convert, with Queensland winning the title 3 runs to 1.
