Game 19: ETB (East Texas Baptist University) v NSW 10:00AM ACDT

ETB defeated NSW 9-5

The undefeated East Texans broke the deadlock in the fifth inning, scoring four runs and putting together a multi-inning shut-out to take the win.

Game 20: WA v VIC 10:00AM ACDT

VIC defeated WA 9-6

VIC: 9R 12H 1E
WA: 6R 7H 1E

The Western Australians came back and took the lead in the bottom of the second with a five-run effort, but couldn't keep Victoria down. The Navy Blues outscored WA 6-1 from that point to record their third win of the tournament.

Game 21: SA v NSW 12:30PM ACDT

A run to NSW at the top of the seventh inning off the bat of Keira Trim kept things tense in Adelaide, but the hosts kept their nerve after scoring two runs to start the game and adding an insurance run in the sixth.

Game 22: ACT v QLD 12:30PM ACDT

QLD defeated ACT 9-0

It was a one-run ball game until Queensland asserted their dominance late, scoring two runs in the fifth and six runs in the sixth. The Maroons at this stage have both the best defense and offense of the tournament and will be tough to beat.

East Texas have been held to their tightest win so far in the Women’s Under 23 National Championships. The ACT allowed just two runs to be scored, both in the first inning, a contrast to the 32 runs ETB had scored in their previous four games. Teoni Lamb pitched the whole game and took six strikeouts and allowed just four hits.

Game 24: QLD v VIC 3:00PM ACDT

Queensland have continued their run of form with a strong win over Victoria to hold firm at the top of the standings. The tournament leaders stormed to a four-run lead after the first inning and refused to let up, extending their run-difference by another seven.

South Australia deny Victoria’s comeback with back-to-back five-run innings to keep the pressure on Queensland for top spot in the standings. SA’s batters were in the zone, with multiple 1.000 performances and six of the lineup touching home plate more than once.

A close and thrilling exchange went the distance on diamond one. Neither team was able to score more than a solitary run in a single inning. South Australia’s Mikayla Jankovic held firm in the center for the full 7.0, taking five strikeouts in the process. This was the second encounter between SA and WA at the U23 Women’s National Championships, and both meetings ended with SA victorious by just the one run.

Game 27: ACT v NSW 8:00PM ACDT

An explosive fifth inning entertained as New South Wales laid down the gauntlet with seven runs for the ACT to chase. The ACT batters had their eye in, out hitting NSW 12 to 10, but only a five-run reply in the fifth made the job difficult. In the end, NSW held firm to claim a sixth win from nine games and sit comfortably inside the top four.
