Victoria makes it two from two on the day, overcoming a six-run deficit to edge out South Australia and make a strong claim for top-two.

Kylie Bracey, Andrea Wells and Niki Benbow made their way home in the opening inning to give VIC a head start as they looked to build on the momentum from their big win over ACT in the hours prior.

Jennifer Verwey managed to contain the VIC attack and bank back-to-back runless innings, allowing the SA hitters to get their eye in.

Kate Adamson’s 3RBI double got the scoring started in the bottom of the third, bringing Bronwyn Pendleton, Tahlia Larosa and Michelle Davis home to level the score.

SA kept the scoring coming, adding another five to the board before VIC could cap the damage.

The momentum looked to be firmly in favour of SA to get the result as they added another in the fourth, but VIC found their way back into the game in the fifth.

Benbow’s triple got the comeback started as VIC brought the SA advantage back to just one.

In the top of the sixth it was Carly Hosek who put on a show, knocking a first-ball homer that marked 6RBIs on the night and give VIC the edge.

South Australia were unable to find one more lead change and Victoria secured their fourth win of the tournament.

Nikkie Molander’s base-work broke the deadlock in the fifth, stealing second before scoring on a sacrifice bunt by Leah Ebert.

The SA pitching duo of Jennifer Verwey and Cindy Ritter did not allow much for the QLD hitters, but Sandy Holden found a crack that allowed Leisha White to make it 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth.
