Softball ACT team grows

Published Wed 19 Oct 2022

Softball Australia is pleased to announce the promotion of Georgia Carpenter to the State Operations Manager role and the appointment of Karthik Rajan as the ACT Participation and National Grants Coordinator.

Georgia joined SACT in March 2021 with a drive to improve members experience through local, state and national events and was promoted to the State Operations Manager role in September 2022.

In announcing the promotion Georgia said that she has “really enjoyed the past year and a half at Softball ACT” and “is excited to continue building relationships with our members, businesses, and the ACT community. With the support of Softball Australia I believe there’s a brilliant future ahead for Softball in the ACT and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Karthik joins us after a stint as the participation coordinator and state lead of participation for WA AusCycling where he was involved in creating new opportunities for school kids and managing events operations.

Through this appointment, Karthik hopes to increase membership through an integrated program structure and enhance club engagement with the community while increasing club capacity to deliver more softball programs.

He also hopes to create a comprehensive grant application process and procedure organisation wide, and increase funding capacity of organisation through higher successful grant application outcomes.

“In my new role, I’d like to bring the participation numbers up for softball in ACT by making it a more accessible, diverse, and inclusive sport.

We look forward to working with Georgia and Karthik to help grow softball in the ACT.
