Aussie Steelers Name Team Officials for WBSC World Cup

Softball Australia is pleased to announce the Team Officials for the upcoming WBSC Open Men’s World Cup.

The 2022 WBSC Open Men’s World Cup will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, later this year. 

Softball Australia congratulates the following officials on their appointment. 

Laing Harrow has been appointed as Head Coach, extending his influence at the highest level of Australian Softball. Apart from coaching the Aussie Spirit at the 2021 Olympic Games, Laing also coached the 2015 and 2017 WBSC Open Men’s World Cup teams, and took the Junior Steelers to the World Championship in 2018. 

Nathan Jones has taken up the role of Assistant Coach. Nathan’s experience includes 2009 Aussie Steelers World Champion as a player, and 2021 Aussie Spirit Assistant Coach (Tokyo Olympics).

David Metekingi will assist Laing along with Nathan as Assistant Coach. David’s experience includes 2009 Aussie Steelers World Champion as a player, Assistant Coach for the Junior Steelers at the 2020 WBSC World Cup and 2022 Under 23 Australian Men’s Team Head Coach. 

Adam Rindfleish will continue his coaching journey in a Specialist Coach / Scouting role. Adam’s experience includes Head Coach for the Junior Steelers at the 2020 WBSC World Cup, Assistant Coach for the 2018 Junior Steelers, and Assistant Coach for the 2019 WBSC Open Men’s World Cup. 

Mike Titheradge is serving as Team Manager, with his long list of appointments going back to 2004. Mike’s experience as Team Manager has taken him to the 2004, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 WBSC Open Men’s World Cups, and he also served as 2018 Junior Steelers Team Manager. 

Anthony Mackie has been appointed as the team’s Video Analyst. Anthony’s experience comes from serving in Video Analysis from the 2004, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 WBSC Open Men’s World Cups.

Chris Trengove is the team’s Statistician, adding to his time as Steelers Statistician at the 2019 WBSC Open Men’s World Cup and as the Spirit Statistician at the 2014 and 2016 WBSC Open Women's World Cups .

Bernie Simai as Physiotherapist. Bernie has served as the Team Physiotherapist at the 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2019 WBSC Open Men’s World Cups along with the 2018 Junior Steelers. 

Softball Australia is pleased to have this well decorated team on board for the 2022 WBSC Open Men’s World Cup.
