West Beach to host 38 teams at the 2017 Australia Cup

The excitement is building, with less than two weeks to go until Softball Australia’s second annual Australia Cup gets underway.Australia Cup

The event, which provides an opportunity for softballers of all ages to come together and play in a carnival type atmosphere, will be held in Adelaide from 12-14 May.

Softball South Australia will host the event at West Beach headquarters, situated on the Barratt Reserve softball complex at the outstanding Adelaide Shores precinct.

This year’s event will see 38 teams and over 400 players and officials take part, in what promises to be a weekend filled with friends, family, entertainment and plenty of softball.

The 2017 Australia Cup builds on last year’s inaugural event that was held in Sydney at Blacktown International Sportspark, where 27 teams played across four categories. The West Beach event has added the Open Men’s and Masters 35+ Women’s categories to the bill, in what promises to be a diverse tournament, with players from Under 13 right through to over 35’s out on the diamond.

The 38 teams, including five travelling interstate teams, will compete across six different categories:
