Coaching Endorsement

What is the process to become an endorsed coach for Softball Sporting Schools?

Softball Australia has created an easy to follow process to become endorsed for the Schools Program. All coaches and teachers delivering the program must be endorsed by Softball Australia as a coach prior to conducting a program.

To become endorsed for the Sporting Schools Program, coaches must meet the following requirements:

  • Be over the age of 15
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check relevant to the state that they intend to conduct sessions
  • Complete a AIS Coaching General Principles or be accredited as a coach in another sport
  • Hold a current Softball Accreditation – minimum online coaching induction
  • Register for the Softball Batter Up website – complete resources library
  • Register as a coach and provide documentation of all accreditation & WWCC

New to coaching

To become a softball endorsed coach to deliver the Sporting Schools Program, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Check or current teaching qualification. Provide a copy of your certification to Softball Australia (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration).
    IMPORTANT: you will not be paid for your services if you have a Volunteer Check only.
  • Step 2: Complete the Online Coaching General Principles (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration).
  • Step 3: Complete the Softball Induction Online. This will take 30 minutes to complete and will require a fee of $27.50 (incl. GST) through online payment (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration). If you are interested in participating in a Level 1 Softball Coaching Accreditation, register your interest here.
  • Step 4: Register on the Softball Batter Up (SBU) website for access to the FREE online resource library for all activities and lesson plans to deliver the program.
  • Step 5: Register as a Sporting Schools Softball coach here.

Once your endorsement has been confirmed, you will be eligible to conduct softball through Sporting Schools Program. Softball Australia will provide a certificate of endorsement to be presented to the school prior to commencement of their program. Other Sport Accreditation

To become a softball endorsed coach to deliver the Sporting Schools Program, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Check or current teaching qualification. Provide a copy of your certification to Softball Australia (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration).
    IMPORTANT: you will not be paid for your services if you have a Volunteer Check only.
  • Step 2: Provide a copy of your other sport accreditation Level 1 or higher. This must be a coaching accreditation.
  • Step 3: Complete the Softball Induction Online. This will take 30 minutes to complete and will require a fee of $27.50 (incl. GST) through online payment (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration). To become a softball endorsed coach to deliver the Sporting Schools Program, please follow these steps:

    IMPORTANT: you will not be paid for your services if you have a Volunteer Check only.
  • Step 2: Provide a copy of your other Softball Accreditation Level 1 or higher. This must be a coaching accreditation. If you do not hold a current Softball Coaching Accreditation, you will be required to complete a Softball Induction Online. This will take 30 minutes to complete and will require a fee of $27.50 (incl. GST) through online payment (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration).

Teacher

To become a softball endorsed teacher to deliver the Sporting Schools Program, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Provide a copy of your Teaching Qualification relevant to the state you will be conducting sessions.
  • Step 2: Provide a copy of a current Softball Coaching Accreditation, if you do not hold a softball specific coaching accreditation you will need to complete the Softball Induction Online. This will take 30 minutes to complete and will require a fee of $27.50 (incl. GST) through online payment (copy of certification to be provided during coach registration).
  • Step 3: The cost of your accreditation is able to be resourced from your funding grant as Teacher PD as long as your school conducts softball within the same funding period. If you are interested in participating in a Level 1 Softball Coaching Accreditation, register your interest here.
  • Step 4: Register on the Softball Batter Up (SBU) website for access to the FREE online resource library for all activities and lesson plans to deliver the program.
  • Step 5: Register as a Sporting Schools Softball coach here.
