Peppers earn first NPF win in extra innings thriller

The Aussie Peppers of Minnesota hosted the Beijing Shougang Eagles for game two of a five-game series between the two squads on Tuesday.

The Peppers (1-1) won an extra-innings thriller, 3-2 over the Eagles (1-7). The win squares up the series at one win apiece.

Rachel Lack scored the game-winning run for the Peppers on a passed ball from Angel Bunner.

Ellen Roberts started in the circle for the Peppers. Roberts finished the night giving up four hits over three innings of work while allowing one earned run.

Amelia Cudicio came on in relief for Roberts. She pitched two innings, and allowed one run.

Monica Perry (1-0) picked up the win for the Peppers.

The Peppers and Eagles continue their series Thursday with a doubleheader beginning at 8:00am AEST at Caswell Park. Wednesday’s game has been canceled due to weather.
