Softball Australia mourns a talented athlete

6 June 2012

Softball Australia extends our deepest condolences to the family of Lisa Pitt on her recent passing. Lisa will be fondly remembered as a friendly, kind hearted person and an extremely talented West Australian Softballer. She was a member of the 2011 Softball Australia International Youth Cup Squad and 2012 U19 Australian Women’s Squad. Lisa was also nominated for Softball Australia’s 2012 Indigenous Athlete of the Year.

Lisa was joint winner of the Most Valuable Player Award for her performances in the Western Australia U17 State team at the 2011 Esther Deason Shield. As a result of her performance she was named in the Western Flames Squad in September 2011.

Lisa received the Town Of Port Hedland & ITOCHU Junior Athlete of the Year Award for her achievements with Softball in December 2011.

She will also be remembered as a fantastic role model delivering Softball clinics to students at Marble Bar Primary School, and juniors from the Port Hedland Softball Association.

Our thoughts are with Lisa's family at this time.
