Softball Australia is pleased to announce the appointments of Adam Rindfleish and Darrin Hebditch as Assistant Coaches of the Junior Steelers, Australia’s Under 19 Men’s team.
The appointments are for all programs leading up to and including the WBSC XII Junior Men’s Softball World Championship, which will be held in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Canada from 7-15 July.
Rindfleish and Hebditch’s appointments have been made from the Men’s National Coaching Panel.
Rindfleish was a playing member of the successful Australian U19 Men’s team that won gold at St John’s, Newfoundland in Canada in 1997 at the V Junior Men’s Softball World Championship. He was also Assistant Coach of the Junior Steelers two years ago, for the XI Junior Men’s Softball World Championship.
Hebditch has been involved as a coach in the Australian U19 Men’s program for a number of years, as an Assistant Coach for the successful 2001 and 2005 Australian U19 Men’s teams that won gold at the VI and VII Junior Men’s Softball World Championships, in Sydney and Canada respectively. Hebditch was also an Assistant Coach for the 2016 Junior Steelers team.
Both Rindfleish and Hebditch will support Laing Harrow, who was reappointed as Head Coach earlier this month.
The Junior Steelers team for the world championship is expected to be finalised after the Australian Under 19 Men’s National Softball Championship, to be held in Blacktown, NSW, from 22-28 January 2018.
