The round games wrapped up today at the 2018 International Friendship Series, with the tournament set to step up a notch as the finals begin at Redlands Softball Association in Queensland.
As we move into day four of the tournament, all teams are still alive and in contention to win the competition.
In the female competition, Australia Green won all five of their round games to finish on top of the ladder. Australia Gold finished second, their only loss a 7-0 result against Australia Green.
The finals for the female competition, which will be played as a double elimination format, began this afternoon.
Fourth ranked Southern Pride defeated fifth ranked Southside Stingers, whilst third ranked Queensland were too good for sixth ranked Port Moresby.
Tomorrow’s (Thursday) schedule for the females is as follows:
8.00am: G18 – Australia Green v Southern Pride
8.00am: G19 – Australia Gold v Queensland
10.00am: G20 – LG18 vs Port Moresby
10.00am: G21 – LG19 vs Southside Stingers
12.00pm: G22 – WG18 vs WG19
2.00pm: G23 – WG20 vs WG21
The finals for the male competition begin tomorrow.
In a relatively even competition, the Australia Gold and Australia Green teams finished first and second at the end of the rounds. Two of the three New Zealand teams, United South Island and NZ Emerging Sox, were right behind them in third and fourth position.
Tomorrow’s games will see Australia Gold and Australia Green playing off for a spot in the grand final, whilst the other teams will be fighting to remain in the competition.

8.00am: G22 – Southern Pride vs Southside Stingers
10.00am: G23 – United South Island vs WG22
12.00pm: G24 – NZ Emerging Sox vs Queensland
2.00pm: G25 – Australia Gold vs Australia Green
2.00pm: G26 – WG23 vs WG24
