The Australian softball spotlight shines this weekend on Adelaide, which will host the annual Australia Cup.
From this Friday, May 4, until Sunday May 6, there will be a feast of softball at Barrett Reserve in West Beach.
This year, 23 teams will compete in six competition categories - U15 Girls, U17 Girls, Social Women, Masters Women, Open Men and Masters Men. The Social Women and Masters Women will be combined for their round robin games, then split for finals. The same format applies to the Open Men and Masters Men.
Entry is free to all games.
While the main focus will be on the softball games, there are many other activities planned to make sure the weekend is a huge success.
With a home run derby, fastest base runner and fastest pitcher competitions, plus free entertainment, there’ll be plenty to do at the ballpark.
Off the diamond, there will be a movie night on Saturday and a Village Green on Sunday that will feature market stalls, face painting and more.
The Adelaide Shores Precinct is the perfect location for the event. There’s a great range of accommodation options, including Adelaide Shores Resort and Big4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park, both within walking distance of Barratt Reserve. And it’s less than a 10-minute drive from Adelaide Airport.
Adelaide Shores also offers great family activities, including:
- Mega Adventure Australia – an aerial adventure park!
