Australia-Japan game rescheduled

The Aussie Spirit’s much-anticipated game against hosts Japan at the XVI Women’s Softball World Championship will be played at 9pm Thursday after being postponed because of bad weather.

aussie spiritAn alert from the World Baseball Softball Confederation on Wednesday night said: “It has not been possible to play in Akitsu Stadium. The final game of the day between Japan and Australia was the only one scheduled but has been cancelled due to a typhoon alert.”

The typhoon was expected to hit overnight, with evacuations in low-lying areas around Chiba.
